Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and improve your browsing experience.

Cookies can be session-based, meaning they are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent, meaning they are stored for a set period of time. They may be set by RefinedMenu directly, known as first-party cookies, or by third-party services that we use to support the website.

RefinedMenu uses cookies to enhance site functionality and analyse traffic. No personal information is collected without your consent.

Our Approach to Cookies

We use cookies responsibly to ensure the website functions correctly and to understand how visitors interact with our content, helping us improve the experience at our Dunedin restaurant.

We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across unrelated websites. All data collected is aggregated and anonymised where possible. RefinedMenu is a contemporary restaurant in Dunedin, New Zealand, and this website is informational; it does not process online transactions.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core features such as page navigation and access to secure areas.

  • They do not require consent under New Zealand privacy law.
  • Examples include cookies that remember your cookie consent preference.

Essential cookies cannot be disabled through our site. They are set by RefinedMenu.

Analytics Cookies

We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are most popular and how users navigate the site.

  • Data is anonymised and used only to improve content and user experience.
  • We may use a third-party service like Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies.

Analytics cookies are optional and can be declined. No personally identifiable information is collected.

Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow the website to remember choices you make, such as language preferences or region, to provide enhanced, more personal features.

  • These cookies may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
  • They are not essential but improve your experience.

Currently, RefinedMenu does not use functional cookies beyond essential ones. If introduced, we will update this policy.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to block or alert you about cookies, or delete cookies already stored on your device.

  • Open your browser's settings or preferences menu.
  • Locate the privacy or security section.
  • Choose your preferred cookie settings, such as blocking all cookies or only third-party cookies.
  • You can also delete existing cookies from your browser's history or site data area.

Instructions vary by browser, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality. RefinedMenu does not provide a cookie preference centre at this time, but you can adjust your settings at any time.

Third-Party Opt-Outs

For analytics cookies set by third parties, you can opt out by visiting their respective opt-out pages, such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not control third-party cookies. Links to third-party opt-out tools are provided for convenience. No personal data is shared with third parties for advertising.
